Thank you Heather!

After more thought, I will not be looking for any cover band work. Maybe a fill-in gig here and there, but I don't have any interest in doing the cover band scene at this time. Besides being rather burnt out on doing covers, it is important to enjoy my time here and a working cover band would totally prevent me from doing that.

Thanks for reminding me of that solo in Diablerie's Course, I hadn't listened to that song in awhile. In my computer monitors (which I actually dig for it's ability to separate instruments well in a mix) the solo sounded loud and proud. The riff under it deserves to not be buried either, so I think Brian/Earl/whoever mixed it did a fine job. I think it sits perfectly in the mix!

Fun to read a different account of "the olde days."

I can totally relate, though in a different setting. I learned web design out of sheer necessity and often wonder if I hadn't worked at the organization that required the site and if I hadn't moved on when I did, would I have continued designing? I certainly wouldn't have ended up at the awesome design company I work for now nor would I have my own business.

But who's to say? What seems like a questionable event at the time (leaving a job, leaving a band, any kind of 'moving on') most times turns out to be the best thing we ever did! It's weird how that works. Like with you and Epicurean--who would've known at the time that difficult decison was made, that you'd end up starting up a popular cover band and meeting so many new people! Your talents have expanded and you've gained skills you maybe wouldn't have had before. You gained SO much much from making that decision.

This post was interesting, I didn't know anything about your 'early days', especially what Accolade was all about and how you got starting playing keybioards! Good stuff! I'm looking forward to reading more. :)
